Martyrs’ Day is marked annually on November 30 in the United Arab Emirates, recognising the sacrifices and dedication of Emirati martyrs who have given their life in the UAE and abroad in the field of civil, military and humanitarian service. Commemorative and national ceremonies and events are usually held on this day. The people of UAE remember the values of sacrifice, dedication and loyalty, of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in battles of heroism, dedication and national duty. This holiday honours the heroes with nationwide remembrance to those who gave their souls for their homeland. On 29th of November 2018, The Grade 10 of The Philippine Global School celebrated Martyrs’ Day by performing a role-play on stage. The role-play was touching and really portrayed the sacrifices that the fallen heroes of this nation made for us. They really showed the heroism of the martyrs that once roamed the Earth. It was truly touching and, I’m sure has moved everyone to be grateful for our heroes that not only fought for their nation but for their people and for their family to be safe on their homeland. May we always forever be grateful and remember their deeds and keep them in our hearts.
